![]() The Western Mass Rebellion is an 18U College Development Program designed to prepare players for the next level, as well as provide opportunities for players to showcase their abilities in front of college and professional scouts. This program is for the SERIOUS high school player who is looking for a program that takes a PROFESSIONAL approach to the game of baseball. The coaching staff is committed to providing the highest level of instruction, as well as a COLLEGE LEVEL environment with COLLEGE LEVEL expectations. Each coach has college and/or professional baseball experience. The Western Mass Rebellion provides an opportunity for players to show what they can do against the best competition from around the country at Showcase Tournaments, along with the best teams from the Northeast region. The team will play in at least 4-5 showcase tournaments where players will play some of the best teams from around the country. The schedule, including tournaments, will be 30-40 games long with mandatory practices. Players will run through an extensive, professional style tryout where they will be able to exhibit their abilities. Players can expect to be assessed in the following categories: timed sprints, bat speed (radar), hitting, arm strength and position specific criteria. There will be 4 tryout dates available (players are encouraged to attend as many as they can). After the last tryout, coaches will meet and go over the scores of the players to determine which players are the best fit for the program.Tryout scores, age and grade level will all be determining factors in the decision making process. Because this is a college development program, a limited number of players will be selected to ensure that each player gets quality playing time and one-on-one attention from the coaching staff. If a player is selected for the team, he will not be in danger of losing his position unless there are conduct or commitment issues. Hard work, respect and effort are rewarded in this program. The primary objective of the Western Mass Rebellion Baseball Program is to provide an opportunity for players to showcase their talents in tournaments where college and professional scouts are GUARANTEED to attend. Players will have the opportunity to play in showcase tournaments in other states for the 2012 season. Each player will also receive college selection guidance from the coaching staff. The coaching staff will be proactive in the college selection process by contacting college coaches directly and creating recruiting packages: including video and letters of recommendation. Equal to the exposure Rebellion players receive, they will also receive top level instruction and attention from the coaching staff. Our coaching staff is committed to ensuring that players from the area succeed and go on to play at the highest level that their abilities will allow them to play. The players in this program will learn something new to develop their game each and every day. Along with the objectives above, players will learn how to approach the game in a professional way. They will not only learn the finer aspects of hitting and pitching mechanics, but the importance of academics, pre-game preparation, on and off-the-field conduct and attention to detail. Tryouts: Saturday October 6 at 10am - Sunday October 7 at 1pm - Saturday October 13 at 1pm - Sunday October 14 at 12 noon Off-Season Schedule: Dec-Mid March (some flexibility for those who play winter sports)
